Department of Theatre and Dance
Student-centered learning is a hallmark of the College of Charleston and especially in the Department of Theatre and Dance. Our students aren't just numbers but close partners in an artistic community formed and shaped in the classroom, in the studio and through our productions. They study with passionate and dedicated faculty members in small classroom settings and through the course of creating our varied production seasons. The program’s attention to the individual and abundant opportunities allow students to gain valuable experience in all aspects of theatre and dance production and study. Learn more | Watch videos
BLACK LIVES MATTER
Recently, the department revised and reposted our existing statement against hate crimes committed here and elsewhere over the last several years. We are fully aware that a statement IS NOT ENOUGH. We have been working together to rewrite our statement and develop an action plan so that we can more actively engage in critical conversations and use our theatre and dance platforms to create change. Our current statement with goals and action items for the 2020-21 academic year can be viewed here.
