Caleb Garner

Adjunct Lecturer and Sound Designer

Caleb S. Garner is a ‘transplanted southerner’ whose work in the theatre has led him to teach and design throughout the Northeast, Southeast, and Deep South regions of the United States. Caleb Holds an MFA in Lighting and Sound Design and Technology from The University of Southern Mississippi, a BFA in Theatre Design and Production, and a BA Theatre Arts Education both from Catawba College. Caleb comes to CofC while serving as the resident lighting designer of the Charleston Stage Company of Charleston, SC, and Artist in Residence of Lee Street Theatre in Salisbury, NC.

Caleb is a member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association, and has been recognized by many organizations such as the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Broadway World, the North Carolina Theatre Conference, and the Kennedy Center. A lifelong learner, Caleb looks forward to learning from his future students and colleagues during his time at CofC. Outside of theatre, Caleb enjoys turning large pieces of wood into smaller pieces of wood (sometimes mistakenly called furniture), painting walls (often with permission) and playing with things that spark and smoke.
