Department Chair
Welcome to the Department of Theatre at the College of Charleston. The energy, excitement and opportunities of one of the largest Theatre Department's in our state are abundant. We are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) and active participants in the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival (KC/ACTF). Our nearly one hundred and fifty majors explore and study theatre in a liberal arts and sciences environment with a committed and dedicated faculty of over twenty professionals. Our student-centered culture is evident in our small classes, our commitment to hands-on learning, and our open audition and enrollment policies. Any student may declare a Theatre major, enroll in any of our classes (providing they have taken the appropriate prerequisites) or audition for our productions.
